Attorney-at-law, Jelena Obradović, an associate of the firm based in Belgrade, participated as a speaker at the Conference on 21st Century Borders, held on 13 June 2014 in Lancaster, United Kingdom. Jelena Obradović spoke on the topic “The International Court of Justice as the forum for settling territorial disputes”, as a member of a panel that discussed resolution of territorial disputes before international bodies.

The Conference was organized by the Centre for International and Human Rights Law of the Lancaster University Law School.

The Conference coincided with the recent events in Crimea and East Asia (sovereignty disputes over islands and maritime delimitation). It aimed to address causes and principles underpinning contemporary territorial disputes and mechanisms to resolve them.
