Legal Questions Concerning the Corona Virus in Austria: Double Taxation Treaty Between Austria and the Russian Federation
The Double Taxation Treaty between Austria and the Russian Federation as amended on 20 June 2019 (DTT 2019) is currently in force.
Last Wednesday, 25 March 2020, Russian President Vladimir Putin published measures to protect the economy due to the coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) and instructed the government of the Russian Federation to implement them. Among other things, existing double taxation treaties are to be amended or, if necessary, terminated. It is unclear whether the DTT 2019 is affected.
